{"id":43,"date":"2023-02-25T15:41:08","date_gmt":"2023-02-25T15:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cassidynoble.com\/?page_id=43"},"modified":"2025-06-08T02:22:22","modified_gmt":"2025-06-08T02:22:22","slug":"lgbtq","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blindfoldchesspodcast.com\/cassidynoble\/lgbtq\/","title":{"rendered":"LGBTQ+"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>it is hard to come out &#8211; either due to personal, familial, societal, financial, or a host of other completely valid reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>having personally struggled with my own identity for so long, i can empathize with others going through similar things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>we are not yet in a society where members of the LGBTQ+ community are able to live their lives without fear of insults, assault, or death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the statistics vary, but a rough agreement is LGBTQ+ people are four times more likely to be victims of violent crime. Trans people see a suicide attempt rate around 35%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>it is hard to live in a world with that much hate and animosity toward a group of people just trying to live their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>that is where groups like The Trevor Project come in. they are a nonprofit focusing on suicide prevention, confidential assistance, resources to help the youth, and create legislation to make the world better for LGBTQ+ members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>if you have the means &#8211;
